Shipping & Logistics Policy

At Domingos Alves Herdeiros, we specialize in the global export and domestic distribution of high-grade sunflower oil—including Refined (RBD), High Oleic (HOSO), Crude (CSFO), and Cold-Pressed varieties. We provide structured, reliable, and compliant logistics solutions tailored to industrial manufacturers, commercial buyers, and retail distributors worldwide.

1. Delivery Options & Packaging Types

We support flexible packaging modes designed to meet diverse industrial and retail requirements:

  • Bulk & Industrial Shipping:
    • Flexitanks (20ft Containers): Up to ~22,000–24,000 Liters per container for cost-effective bulk liquid transit.
    • IBC Containers (1,000L): Food-grade Intermediate Bulk Containers suitable for medium-scale manufacturing.
    • Steel / HDPE Drums (200L): Heavy-duty drums for safe handling and storage.
  • Retail & Commercial Packaging:
    • PET Bottles (1L, 3L, 5L): Fully packaged, labeled, or private-label ready, stacked on standard Euro-pallets (80×120 cm) or Industrial pallets (100×120 cm).

2. Commercial Terms (Incoterms 2020)

To ensure clear risk allocation and commercial transparency, we offer orders under standard international commercial terms:

  • EXW (Ex Works): Buyer manages collection directly from our facilities or partner warehouses in Portugal/EU.
  • FOB (Free on Board): We handle transport, loading, and export customs clearances up to the port of origin.
  • CIF / CFR (Cost, Insurance & Freight / Cost & Freight): We manage ocean or road shipping directly to your port of destination or border node.
  • DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): Available for select European Union destinations upon request.

3. Lead Times & Order Processing

  • Order Processing & Preparation: Standard orders are prepared and processed within 5 to 10 business days, depending on packaging customization (e.g., Private Label branding, bottling, or flexitank fitting).
  • European Union (EU) Transit: 3 to 7 business days via road transport or short-sea freight.
  • International / Ocean Freight: 14 to 35 business days, depending on the destination port and shipping lines.

Note: Exact lead times and delivery schedules are confirmed in your formal Proforma Invoice (PI) or Sales Contract upon order lock.

4. Quality Control, Documentation & Customs Compliance

Every shipment undergoes strict quality checks to ensure compliance with European Union food safety standards and international trade regulations.

All full-container or bulk shipments include standard export documentation:

  • Certificate of Analysis (CoA) issued by an accredited laboratory.
  • Bill of Lading (B/L) or International Consignment Note (CMR).
  • Commercial Invoice & Packing List.
  • Certificate of Origin (EUR.1 / COO) where applicable.
  • Phytosanitary / Health Certificates (upon request for non-EU destinations).

5. Freight Claims, Cargo Inspection & Insurance

  • Pre-Shipment Inspection: Buyers may arrange third-party inspection (e.g., SGS, Bureau Veritas) at the port of loading prior to dispatch.
  • Cargo Insurance: For CIF orders, cargo insurance is included as per agreed contract terms. For EXW/FOB orders, insurance responsibility rests with the buyer.
  • Damage or Discrepancies: All goods must be inspected upon delivery. Any physical damage, seal tampering, or volumetric discrepancies must be noted on the transport document (CMR / B/L) and reported to sale@domingosalves.com within 48 hours of receipt.
